It primarily invests in companies based in North America and Europe. The firm typically invests between $20 million and $200 million of equity capital in companies with enterprise values ranging from $200 million to $2 billion. The firm focuses on control equity investments in middle-market companies. The DLJ Investment Partners Fund specializes in providing mezzanine debt primarily used to finance middle market buyout transactions. The firm, through the firm, participates in leveraged acquisition and recapitalization, add-on acquisition, growth financing, and structured equity investments. It prefers to invest in companies based in North Amercia. The firm typically invests between $25 million and $75 million in subordinated debt or preferred stock with warrants. Through its DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners Fund, the firm invests in real estate. It considers investments structured either as equity or debt or a combination thereof, if it meets its return criteria. The firm focuses on single asset repositionings, corporate divestitures, international acquisitions, joint venture programs, entity investments, development opportunities, and capital market dislocations. It makes investments in both technology and global real estate private equity businesses. The firm typically focuses its international investments in Western Europe and Japan. It typically invests in excess of $20 million and holds its investments over a period of three years to five years. Through the CSFB Strategic Partners Fund, it pursues secondary investments in leveraged buyouts, mezzanine, real estate, venture capital, fund of funds, infrastructure, and distressed debt. It primarily invests in North America and Europe. It invests opportunistically in investments where the seller’s original commitment may range in size from a single L.P. interest of $250,000 to complex portfolios of up to $500 million. The firm has a global investment mandate, however, most of its commitments are made to funds managed by United States’ and Western European sponsors. Through the Customized Fund Investment Group, the firm focuses on the fund-of-fund private equity investment activities. It invests in venture capital, leveraged buyout, mezzanine, real estate, secondary and distressed debt funds, and co-investments world-wide. The firm was founded in 1997 and is based in New York, New York with additional offices in Zurich, Switzerland; Tokyo, Japan; London, United Kingdom; Central, Hong Kong; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Los Angeles, California. CSFB Private Equity is an operating subsidiary of Credit Suisse, Investment Banking and Securities Investments.
