It seeks to invest in information technology companies with a focus on software and data communications, business-to-business services and products, enterprise software, cyber security, supply chain, networking technology, and informatics, and life sciences companies. The firm seeks to invest in the Western United States with a focus on west coast. It seeks to invest between $3 million and $5 million in its portfolio companies and the early stage seed investments will range between $300,000 and $500,000. In particular, it seeks companies serving business markets, and those with strong technology based solutions. The firm does not invest in companies focused on consumer markets. Aspen Ventures was formerly known as 3i Ventures. Aspen Ventures changed its name in 1991. Aspen Ventures was founded in 1983 and is based in Los Altos, California with an additional office in Newport Beach, California.
