| Description | Russian early-stage fund |
Russian early-stage fund AddVenture invests $20-50K in IT startups and helps companies develop rapidly. With a business model close to that of YCombinator, AddVenture invested in 6 companies in August 2008 and then launched them in November 2008. Two of the startups have since attracted next-round financing: Wi2Geo (a mobile social network based on hybrid positioning technology, similar to Loopt) and SkyHook Wireless and RooMix (online 3D rooms modeling service, similar to MyDeco). What differentiates AddVenture from other Russian early stage investors is a wide network of contacts, including entrepreneurs from the Silicon Valley, Russian IT top managers (e.g. Mail.Ru, SoftKey, Buka, Google, etc.), and next-round investors.
