Zipano is a Pittsburgh, PA based startup which is a spinoff from the Mobile Commerce Lab at Carnegie Mellon University. The goal of the company is to commercialize the technology and concept of allowing users to better define their privacy preferences in the context of information (location, but not only) sharing applications. Zipano is an Innovation Works AlphaLab company for the summer class of 2009.

Locaccino is a location-sharing system that gives users precision control over who can see their locations. While most location-based systems only allow users to list which contacts should or shouldn’t be able to see their location, Locaccino privacy settings allow users to create rules as simple or complex as you want them to be.
