Versionate provides a product that allows individuals and organizations to upload several types of files, such as documents and images, and edit them using a web browser. Edits to these files are then saved to separate versions that can later be restored. Users also have the option to create new documents within the Versionate online environment.
Files can be organized in folders and converted to similar types. Users can also search for specific terms in all of the files they have uploaded or created with Versionate.
The company compares its product to other Wikis. However, the product differentiates itself with the ability to import conventional file types such Word, Excel, Photoshop, and PDF.
Versionate began as a Y Combinator company with $15,000 of seed funding.
