A nation-wide crime rating for your location.
CrimeScore rating is a propriety methodology based on address-level crime reports, weighted for type of crime, recency, and proximity, then adjusted by neighboring CrimeScore ratings, and finally statistically standardized across a bell curve based on all the CrimeScores across a city, updated daily.
Use the CrimeScore API to pass in a latitude and longitude, and get back a score, rating, grade, number of crime reports nearby, and website badge.

SafetyCheck is a mobile iPhone app that gives you a CrimeScore rating at your current location.
The app shows a rating from 1 to 10 of your current safety level, and the number of recent crimes in your area, though the national CrimeScore API.
SafetyCheck can drill down to see a list of area crimes, map them, and get details about each individual crime. And you can see nearby places of interest.
Work with your local police. If needed, you can call your local Police Division number to report a problem.
Push notifications allow you to set your score threshold so that SafetyCheck can alert you when you enter an high crime area, even if the app is not open.
The score comes from a proprietary formula based on a combination of location, type of crime, and date, and standardized across the entire city.
