Youpid is the first of its kind, its a matrimonial social network. The premise is to allow singles to use their extended friends and family network and they in turn theirs and so on to allow extended network clusters to form. Singles in these localized clusters can see each other and connect safely via introductions made by mutual friends that form part of the “chain”.
Youpid was built to evolve the current matrimonial market in India which is essentially an online classifieds type model, where the inherent anonymity leads to fraud and long turn times to find a suitable match due to the vast amount of non-viable leads a single must go through.
The core premise of Youpid is to connect with singles who are known using a “sphere of influence” model that goes several levels deep. Youpid is based out of Mumbai, India and went beta on Dec 27 2009.
