Ykone.com is the number one social media site for fashion in France. Ykone’s editorial content– fashion articles, live coverage of runway shows and the most complete fashion encylcopedia online– is surrounded by community functionalities. Members post their own looks, vote on the latest trends and earn badges to become true fashion “Ykones.” Ykone has an advertising-based revenue model and offers fashion brands a social media toolbox resulting in meaningful interactions with its members.
Ykone was founded in 2007 by Olivier Billon (formerly with L’Oréal) and Mathieu Lebreton of Materialiste.com, who currently co-direct the company. Ykone was bootstrapped in the startup incubator of Sciences Po, and has since raised 2 million Euros of capital, including angel investment from Ange Basile and a Series A round with Elaia Partners. Ykone currently has 10 employees and is based in Paris.
