Founded in 2001 by Daniel Arthursson, Xcerion is the leading consumer Cloud OS provider with its service, icloud. It is a social Cloud OS for keeping in touch and sharing experiences with friends. It is easy to use, secure, social and always accessible from any computer or device. Its your digital life, online.
The icloud service includes a complete OS, productivity tools and applications needed for everyday computing, visual development tools and the ability to scale millions of users. Applications available today on icloud include; IMAP Email, Calendar, Presentation, Contacts, Todo, Instant Messaging, Visual Application Designer (IDE), Document Explorer, Word Processing, Money Manager, Photo Organizer, Music Player, Radio, RSS Reader, XML Editor and Widgets. All these applications are provided under Open XML Source, i.e. the source may be viewed, learned from or edited by anyone.
At the core of the icloud service is an XML Virtual Machine, executing the icloud applications locally instead of in the cloud, eliminating the need for constant server round-trips. Xcerion data centers are therefore mainly used for data persistence, storing the users files. This dramatically improves the responsiveness of applications in icloud and enhances the user experience. Applications in icloud look and behave with full drag and drop and inter application interaction much more like traditional desktop software.
Xcerion are working on providing icloud’s virtual machine for more interfaces and devices than the web browser. This means that any application written for icloud will work online, and elsewhere…

icloud is a web based operating system by Xcerion. Accessible both by browser and cellphone, icloud has unique features such as rich online collaboration, social networking and easy publishing.
What differentiates icloud from webtops is that is contains a XML virtual machine within the browser, which makes the applications on icloud execute locally without doing any server round-trips. This also enables icloud to continue to work offline.
Xcerion has been building on the icloud service since 2001.
