Wetpaint

Wetpaint powers websites that tap the power of collaborative thinking. The heart of the Wetpaint advantage is its ability to allow anyone – especially those without technical skill – to create and contribute to websites written for and by those who share a passion or interest. To do this, Wetpaint combines the best aspects of wikis, blogs, forums and social networks so anyone can click and type on the web.

Wetpaint was called Wikisphere when it was founded in 2005.

In March 2008, Wetpaint added social networking functionality to its wiki offering.

I started using wetpaint after the site I spent most of my time at, Stage6.com, went under. All the users from that site went out to make there own sites trying to keep the community together. I ended up looking at all types of services from .Ning sites to other Wikis and Wetpaint blew them away. The interface is ingenious. Easy to learn but with great depth for people who have used it for awhile. Having been there just a month now I am doing things on the site I never would have thought of before. Very cool service.
