Wahanda is a health, beauty and wellness community & marketplace that connects consumers, wellness businesses and professionals through content, community ratings & reviews and commerce.
Wahanda is a Native American word meaning ‘great spirit and creator’.
By providing a comprehensive, and growing list of global spa, health, beauty & wellness options (from massages & facials to yoga, pilates and even botox and cosmetic surgery), Wahanda allows consumer the ability to learn about treatments, read and contribute ratings & reviews, and ultimately transact by booking online with businesses and independent therapists.
Founded by veterans of lastminute.com (a Travelocity company) and Yahoo Search, Wahanda has brought together investors behind some of the leading businesses in the internet and hospitality industries, including Ambient Sound Investments (the investment firm created by the former founding engineers at Skype), Brent Hoberman (co-Founder of lastminute.com), Stefan Glaenzer (Former Executive Chairman of last.fm) and Wolf Hengst (Former President of Worldwide Operations, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts).
Wahanda is looking to broaden the market by not only reaching existing spa, wellness and beauty consumers, but by also appealing to potential new consumers who previously may have found the industry intimidating or inaccessible.
