Remixation’s main product is Vodpod.com, a web service that helps people collect videos from 1000s of web sites, from YouTube to the Daily Show to Teacher Tube. Members can build video collections on Vodpod, and share them on their own websites, blogs, and social networks they use.
Vodpod offers a number of tools to make collecting videos easy, including a browser button that allows members to collect videos with a click. This browser button can be used to post videos to blogs, as well as micro-blogging sites like Tumblr and Twitter and social networks like Facebook and Myspace.
Vodpod also offers an array of services that help you to publish or share your collection on your blog or website. The most advanced of these services is VodSpot.tv – a way to build your own custom video site powered by your Vodpod collection. VodSpot powers the video sections of leading sites such as TechCrunch and Talking Points Memo among others.
As more people are using Vodpod to collect videos, it has become one of the most popular video sites on the Web, after YouTube, DailyMotion and Hulu.
By August 2009, over 600,000 Vodpod members have collected more than 3,000,000 videos from 11,000 different video sites.
