Viewpoint started in 1988 and was one of the first companies to build and sell 3D Models to the new Computer Graphics industry.
These models were used in over 500 movies and video games and the Viewpoint catalog became the reference for building new objects.
Viewpoint also was the pioneer in developing new ways to digitize 3D objects as well as 2D vector maps and clip art.
Viewpoint was acquired by Computer Associates in October of 1998.
