Utagoe is a web company specializing in video and communication technologies. It is headquartered in Tokyo with a branch office in San Jose. The company name means “singing voice” in Japanese.
Utagoe was established in 2001 by Tom Sonoda, at that time still a PhD candidate at Tokyoâ€™s Waseda University. The company’s first product, a search engine for music has been available for cell phones in Japan since 2004. Utagoe owns a number of proprietary video technologies.
Utagoe’s newest service is called Utagoe Live 100, a hub for video communication, streaming and broadcasting.
