UCWeb Inc. is a leading provider of mobile internet software technology and services. Since its inception in 2004, UCWeb’s mission has been to provide better mobile internet experience to billions of users around the world.

UCweb offers UC Browser, UC paradise, UC Desktop, UC Video, UC Thunder, and UC SafeBox on its platform. UC Browser, the flagship product of UCWeb, is available on more than 3,000 different models of cell phones from over 200 cell phone manufacturers. In addition, UC Browser is compatible with all mainstream operating systems such as Symbian, Android, iOS, Windows Mobile, Win CE, Java, MTK, and Blackberry. In June 2011, UCWeb released U3 engine, the company’s proprietary technology (similar to a car’s engine). Browsers based on the U3 would give users faster, more convenient and more secure web surfing experience.

Today, UCWeb continues to develop rapidly, with 80% of its more than 1,700 employees involved in product research and development. UCWeb has more than 200 patents, both pending and received, in the field of mobile browsing.

UCWeb has built a network of independent servers in Asia, North America, and Europe, serving over 400 million users in more than 150 countries and regions around the world. UC Browser is now available in 11 languages including English, Russian, Indonesian, and Vietnamese. In September 2011, UCWeb’s India office was opened, and in 2012, the company opened its second office outside of China in the U.S. In 2013, UCWeb has already surpassed its competitor, Opera, and became India’s number one mobile internet browser. As the steps of globalization is taking on a steady pace, UCWeb will continue to provide better mobile internet experience to billions of users around the world.

UCWeb was founded in 2004. In 2006, UCWeb obtained 4 million RMB from the angel investor Lei Jun.

UC Browser

UC Browser is the leading mobile internet browser with more than 400 million users across more than 150 countries and regions. This product is currently available on all major operating platforms in 10 different languages.

Due to its cloud acceleration and data compression technology, it claims to reduce up to 90% data consumption and load web content much faster.

Citing data from StatCounter, that puts UC Browser ahead of Opera, with 32.82 percent of the market share to Opera’s 26.91 percent.
