True Knowledge is building a natural language question answering platform which can take in users’ questions and give back direct answers.
Unlike [Powerset] (http://crunchbase.com/company/powerset) the knowledge source is not natural language documents and web pages but its own structured repository of the world’s knowledge which can be added to by users. This makes it have some similarities with Metaweb (http://crunchbase.com/company/metaweb)
True Knowledge’s technology is non statistical, meaning that it knows when it cannot understand the user’s question or provide an answer. This it allows it to complement existing search technologies producing its direct answers when it can and other results such as standard internet search results when it cannot.
