SwiftKey

SwiftKey is a rapidly growing, successful company that builds apps and technology that learn from their users to make text entry easier, faster and more productive.

In 2014, it was named one of the top 5 most innovative productivity companies in the world by Fast Company. Last year Wired magazine ranked SwiftKey the No 1 hottest startup in London.

The company is best-known for its consumer apps, the SwiftKey keyboard for Android and SwiftKey Note for iPhones and iPads. SwiftKey technology learns from each user to accurately predict their next word and accurately autocorrect, making text input faster and easier.

The SwiftKey keyboard was the biggest selling paid app on Google Play in 2013 and 2012 and has been No 1 in 58 countries.

SwiftKey Note is the fastest way to take notes on an iPhone and iPad. It made the top 10 best-selling free apps in the United States and has been the No 1 productivity app in the US, UK and many other markets.

A bespoke product for clinicians using touchscreens, SwiftKey Healthcare, launched in 2012.

SwiftKey’s revenue comes from sales of apps on Google Play and Amazon Appstore, as well as licensing deals with OEM manufacturers. SwiftKey has licensed its technology to a number of OEMs including deals with Tier 1s. In 2013, SwiftKey technology was on more than 100 million devices.

The company was founded in August 2008 by Jon Reynolds, CEO and Dr Ben Medlock, CTO, both Cambridge University graduates. The company currently has around 125 staff, with its headquarters in Southwark, London, UK, and offices in San Francisco and Seoul.

SwiftKey is a trademark of TouchType Ltd, a limited company registered in England and Wales.
