Tooio is a Madrid-based company developing mobile phone applications to deliver infomation based on proximity to their users. It mixes the power of local directories (restaurants, hotels, cinemas, events), with social connections and proximity marketing.
The company was founded by Rafa Casado and Mobile Dreams Factory. Rafa was general manager in Terra, owned by Telefónica. Mobile Dreams is the leading mobile advertising agency in Spain.
The service is currently focused on Spain.
Tooio has partnered with Vocento, the leading local media group in Spain, to deliver some of their applications based on proximity and social networks, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and others. Tooio provides a while labeled version of their platform to these intitutions.
