Tischen.com, an online directory of skilled people, was launched in 2010 with a mission to rid the world of unemployment.
Tischen’s sole purpose is to get people job requests, allowing them to showcase their skills and work samples, share their availability, and communicate quickly by e-mail or text. Tischen’s platform can help full-timers, freelancers, moonlighters, odd-job doers, self-reinventors, and anyone with a hidden talent they wish to be paid for.
Current members include Lawyers, Painters, Babysitters, Bakers, Photographers, Tutors, Typists, Copywriters, DJ’s, Plumbers, Party Planners, Programmers, Artists and Actors.
The name Tischen is derived from “Tisch” – the German word for table – a symbol of craftsmanship and human ingenuity, and a place of coming together to solve problems cooperatively.
