Tianji is far and away China’s largest professional SNS, with more than six million registered users. In June of 2011 Bloomberg wrote that Tianji was poised to “Cement Lead Over LinkedIn in China.”
The company was founded by Derek Ling in 2005. Mr. Ling previously served as a VP at Sina.com, in addition to working for Apple and Motorola.
Tianji is owned by Viadeo Group. Based in Paris, Viadeo Group is the largest global professional SNS company for non-English markets, with more than 35 million users.
