Thermoelectric devices have the potential to replace rotating machines used today for cooling and power generation, including compressors, gas turbines, steam turbines and electrical generators. These machines are noisy, heavy, and wear out from moving parts. Thermoelectric devices are solid state chips that are lighter, silent, potentially more efficient, and do not require environmentally damaging fluids like Freon.
