Telnic

Telnic is a registry operator for the communications-focused .tel top level domain (TLD). Launched to the general public on March 24th 2009, it has since registered over 275,000 .tel names. It was subsequently nominated for both a World Technology Network Award and won an InfoCommerce Group Model of Excellence 2009 Award as well as Best Small IT Supplier of the Year from the inaugural UK IT Industry Award.

Telnic is pioneering the creation of a new publishing and discovery platform, by combining an innovative use of existing internet infrastructure with a new purpose for the domain name system. As a result, .tel delivers a global, ‘live’ contacts directory for individuals and businesses, accessible from any device, bypassing the need for websites. .tel owners can take control of how people interact with them, under a domain that they own, and .tel users can discover contact information quickly, easily and cheaply.
