Tej Kohli Foundation is a private non-profit organization funded and managed by philanthropist and entrepreneur Mr. Tej Kohli. Driven by the spirit of helping the less privileged and making world a better place, the foundation is helping thousands of people across the globe through its various programs. With efforts majorly concentrated in Costa Rica and India, the foundation strives to alleviate poverty and extend better educational opportunities, food and basic civic amenities like clean drinking water, proper sanitation etc. to children all over the globe.
Founded in the year 2005, the foundation is solely funded by Tej Kohli, with its headquarters located in San Jose, Costa Rica. Currently the foundation is looking after 1000 poor kids through its outreach program. In 2009, the foundation expanded its philanthropic activities in India and is spending $1 million every month to shelter the homeless slum children and helping them gain access to better educational opportunities. In 2010, the foundation launched a corneal replacement program in India which will help over 1000 people every month in regaining their sight through corneal transplant.
