TagCow

TagCow, launched in March 2008, is a service that tags your photos with descriptive keywords. If there’s a mountain in the photo, it’s tagged. A dog? yep. A yellow cup? Absolutely. It does people, too. Upload an image of a person and say who it is, and all other images you upload will be tagged with that person, too. The service also integrates with Flickr and will auto tag the photos you have on the service.

Why not extending this service to a "desktop application" like Google does by implementing its search engine to GDS ? It would be very useful to tag own private photo. But maybe that service is not automation but human... hi hi^^ And what is the business model of tagcow ???

How does this service work? And does it cost money? I seriously think they could have a great business here if they integrated with flickr/picasa/iphoto to automatically tag your photos. Even if it was a payed service! Tagging photos is one of the most time consuming and unfun tasks on a computer.. Automation here is much needed!
