Swelen leverages Collective Intelligence to help users find relevant and objective information.
Research in the domain of Collective Intelligence has focused mostly on upholding the power of human decisions and reducing the influence of potential malicious interests. The company believes that specific information can be relevant for one user but irrelevant for the others.
As a first step, Swelen developed implicit methods for determining the interests and the satisfaction of online users. The company’s technology is not fully dependent on users’ explicit participation, but instead feeds on all aspects of the users’ behavior to acquire an understanding of their individual needs and wants.
Swelen was founded by Vincent Fontaine and Vincent Borrel in March 2007 and launched in private beta in June 2009. The company’s mission is to enhance the way information is personalized, shared and organized online.
