StyleSays

StyleSays is “Pinterest for fashion/beauty products” with the communication of Facebook, targeting young women ages 14 to 30.

It is a single destination for users to 1) SAVE items into wishlists from any online stores such as ModCloth.com or Nordstroms.com, and 2) SHARE those items with close friends who they trust and often influence their purchases, as they do while shopping in other contexts. StyleSays provides users with a simple bookmarking tool to save items found while shopping and also crawls major e-commerce sites daily to update product information. The user experience fulfills the most apparent needs of our target audience: 1) discovering items, 2) saving favorite ones, 3) receiving personalized sales updates, and 4) validation of purchasing decisions by close, trusted friends and family.

Brands can market their products more effectively using the metadata of StyleSays users’ shopping behavior. Different from existing online advertisement models, a brand will know who is most likely to buy its new product line, such as “beige skinny fit for autumn season,” by analyzing purchasing behavior from discovery to sale. This will allow brands to better target new customers, retain existing sales, and even create opportunities for flash-sales based on the aggregate demand of our audience.
