stickK.com is the product of three Yale University economists who believed that using contracts could be an effective way to help people accomplish their objectives. Users can create contracts around common resolutions (weight loss, stopping smoking, getting exercise) or create custom contracts. Depending on the contract, stickK.com users can put money on the contract, penalizing themselves financially if they can’t come through as delivered.

After creating a profile, stickK.com users can create standard contracts like “Lose Weight”, “Quit Smoking”, or “Exercise Regularly”; users can also create custom contracts (one current suggestion on the site includes the always popular “Grow a Pony Tail”). After set up, stickK.com contracts are made public to the site’s user base, and users can also bet money on the fact that they will fulfill their contract’s conditions.
