Sparcq is a social recommendation engine that helps users discover new interests. Users build their profiles by rating items on the Sparcq site (or via hooks from Facebook, iPhone, etc). The universe of items which users may rate is not limited to any specific domain.
Users may rate books, music, movies, restaurants, cities, philosophers, or even other websites. Based on the user’s profile, the engine recommends other items which may interest the user.
Users are also free to directly recommend items to other users. Of course, users may also discover other users who they might find of interest, based on their profiles.
The underlying philosophy of Sparcq is that users are more likely to trust recommendations from users with whom they have things in common.
