SnapVillage

“Empowered” by stock-photo giant Corbis, SnapVillage is the company’s attempt to establish a foothold in the micro-stock photography market that allows amateur photographers to sell their images across the web. Users are allowed to upload photos to SnapVillage and name their price relative to the license they choose : Standard ($1-$50) or Product ($35-$125). Prices can be changed at any time, and royalty rates are 30% for artists on price-based images sales and $.30 a download for all subscription-based sales. In addition, some photos may be picked up by Corbis to sell to their Premium Market, which commands higher prices per image.

Other competitors in the micro-stock photography market include Fotolia and iStockPhoto.
