Smart Surgical, a UK-based medical device company. Led by Adam James, Smart Surgical develops sensor enabled surgical devices for keyhole surgery. Their first product – currently at the pre-clinical verification stage – aims to enhance depth perception for the operating surgeon during keyhole surgery. The device, which helps surgeons judge the distance between their instruments and vital organs, improving safety and accuracy, is expected to be adopted by surgeons at an early stage in their operating career allowing them to advance to more complex keyhole operations at a faster rate.
