Smalltown is an online advertising network catering to the specific needs of local merchants and the customer base they serve.

Smalltown’s technology, called the Webcard posting, is a “portable website” with marketing and operating components that are important to local merchants as they migrate their advertising dollars to Internet-based platforms. These cards show up in directories on the Smalltown site and they can be sent to friends and viewed on their own as well.

Smalltown is located in San Mateo, California, and is funded by Menlo Park-based Formative Ventures. The company has launched 6 pilot towns on the San Francisco Peninsula and has plans for national expansion.
