Current fitness and activity sites focus on weight loss, whereas Skimble offers social activity tracking, activity comparisons and an accomplishment leaderboard to help motivate people to be active and have fun.
Key differentiators include: 1) Multi-sport tracking tools for outdoor trips and gym workouts. It can be as simple as ‘I went hiking in Yosemite Valley’ to as specific as ‘I rock climbed Half Dome on the 5.7R Snake Dike route in Yosemite Valley’ and ‘I ran a specific mapped route in San Francisco and it took me 1hr and 37sec’. 2) A game-like system where users receive activity points for tracking real-world adventure. 3) Social media integration with the networks people are already engaged with, including Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, and Vimeo.
