Silatronix, founded in 2007, is an early-stage start-up company located in Madison, Wisconsin. The company was founded by Robert West and Robert Hamers, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Winslow Sargeant of Venture Investors, LLC. The company’s technology combines Dr. West’s expertise in organosilicon compounds with that of Dr. Hamers in nanostructured electrodes and electronic properties of materials. Their goal is expand the use of organosilicon compounds as safe, environmentally friendly electrolytes for use in energy storage devices such as ultracapacitors (electrochemical double-layer capacitors), lithium-ion batteries, and other electrochemical energy storage devices.
