ShopwithStella.com is a web application poised to revolutionize the way women experience fashion. This is not a company trying to create a revolutionary micro-chip that will become the industry standard for all future computers. Nor is this a company bent on perfecting the most technically specific algorithm or implementing some version of never-before-seen machine vision technology. ShopwithStella.com is in the business of bringing the overall shopping experience—the “going-to-the-mall-on-a-Friday-afternoon-with-some-friends” sort of shopping experience—a home on the web.
In its most basic form, the website operates as search engine for clothing specific to the user’s taste. The website performs a valuable and time-saving service by categorizing and suggesting clothing from across the web, in a simple, condensed, and user-friendly format. This is a service every woman wishes currently existed. It is for the high-powered businesswoman and mother who does not have time to browse forty different websites as well as for the hopelessly bored intern who spends six out of her eight hours at work endlessly perusing the latest fashion blogs. In each case, both women will be able to find that perfect dress without having to scour hundreds of different shopping websites. Stella does all the work and brings that item both women so desperately seek right to her recommendations carousel which is both aesthetically pleasing and user friendly.
The crux of the website’s appeal is its ability to provide a platform through which women can share their fashion finds with others. Stella allows women to bookmark recommendations by adding them to their “closets.” While personal settings may be employed to make some items of clothing private, the user’s closet acts as a virtual space in which women can publicly display clothing they have found to their friends, family, and peers. The closet lets users view the clothing others have placed in their closets. Women can construct potential outfits, comment on the outfits and/or clothing choices of others, and suggest clothing for others.
The Company’s unique position at the intersection of several industries will enable it to repave the paths clothing companies use to reach consumers by pioneering new frontiers in E-commerce, product integration, television, targeted marketing, and online advertising, while simultaneously automating the entire profession of personal shoppers with a single application—ShopwithStella.com.
