As at Nov 2008, nearly 130 ship management companies buy around $1bn in goods per annum from 8,500 suppliers on the ShipServ trading platform, ShipServ TradeNet.

These goods encompass all of the items needed to keep a vessel operational - from spare parts to safety equipment to paint.

ShipServ also provides an online supplier directory, ShipServ Pages, where over 22,000 suppliers to the maritime industry advertise themselves. Pages is free to searchers, and as at Nov 2008 over 10,000 visitors per week use the directory to source new suppliers.
