Sharing Books is a children’s literature publisher that focuses on DRM free e-books and online publishing of books for children under 12 years old.
Authors and illustrators are paid a 1/3 share of all revenues generated by the company. An additional 1/3 of company revenue is donated to charity ( Room to Read - www.roomtoread.org ). The remainder is used to maintain and operate the website.
Sharing Books focuses on a crowd-sourced business model, allowing authors and illustrators to quickly publish work and test concepts and ideas in a live marketplace. Books can be updated and refined as the creative abilities, direction, and resources of the book creators increase, allowing them to craft a book over time.
There are semi-regular awards and contests that book creators can apply for, ranging from simple popularity based awards to content/genre specific awards, ranging from $100 - $500.
