Servtag is an object- and location-based service provider. Servtag uses Near Field Communication (NFC) to link physical objects and locations with online data and information. Next to NFC, the company uses various forms of input such as QR-Codes, text messages, GPS, geo-coordinates, etc. to provide services.

The first service based on this infrastructure is Friendticker.

Friendticker helps to

• communicate to a social network the users current location and activity
• see what the friends in the user’s network are doing right now on the mobile phone
• identify hotspots and points of interest in urban areas.

Friendticker is introduced to markets at the Cebit 2009 in Germany.
