SeeSaw is a video on demand portal the aimed to be the UK’s Hulu.

It was founded in 2007 by Channel 4, BBC Worldwide and ITV. The project ran until Feburary 2009 when it was closed down by the UK competition commission. The technology was then sold onto Arqiva who launched a public website in Janurary 2010.

In January 2011 it was announced a investment partner was being sought. In May 2011 it was announced no partner was found and the site would be shutdown. At the last minute Criterion Capital Partners bought a stake in the venture saving it from closure.
