Scratch Music Group is a music and technology company founded in 2002 by Rob Principe. Scratch currently features a network of high quality DJs, which it leverages for thousands of events per year. Scratch’s business units include:

– Scratch Events provides a turnkey DJ booking and delivery service for corporate tours and events.

– Scratch Weddings provides “marquee” DJs and a host of quality guarantees for couples getting married. The service operates throughout the United States.

– Scratch DJ Academy is a leading DJ learning center, developed in conjunction with Jam Master Jay of Run DMC. The Academy offers individual and group classes, ranging from beginner DJ instruction to advanced music production. The company also has a consumer software unit.

Scratch Music Group operated without outside funding until 2011, when it closed a $3 million round of growth financing. Contour Venture Partners led the round, with additional funding from the New York City Investment Fund (NYCIF), and angel investors Jason Finger and Todd Arky, of SeamlessWeb; and Jacob Pachenik, co-founder and CEO of YellowJacket Software.

The company has offices in New York, Miami and Los Angeles.
