SciEngines provides cost- and energy-efficient High Performance Computing (HPC) solutions based on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs).
SciEngines products (scalable from single accelerator cards up to supercomputing clusters) can be optimized for specific applications and then provide the processing power of hundreds, thousands or tens of thousands of PCs in one server. The investment is usually below 10% of comparable standard IT-hardware and electricity consumption below 2% - oftentimes resulting in higher savings each year than the amount invested in the infrastructure. In addition to hardware, SciEngines provides custom development and implementation services to ease the adoption of this novel IT architecture.
Prerequisite for a recuperation of the optimization effort is a stability of the core-algorithms as well as above-average (>128 PC cores) processing requirements for those. Best results are generally obtained in sectors like cryptography, engineering, financial mathematics, scientific research (biosciences, geosciences, physics etc) and simulations (e.g. 3D modeling or logistics).
