QuieroLatino.com is an online dating community for Latino singles. Joe Spector and Ariel Oxman co-founded the site from their apartments in December 2006 while graduate students at the University of Pennsylvania. The company is now headquartered in San Francisco, CA.

Described as the “hip new dating site” by Si TV , QuieroLatino launched the premier online dating community for Latinos in the United States on Valentine’s Day 2008. More and more Latinos are turning to online dating to find a match, and QuieroLatino was started to fill the cultural gap in the online dating world not met by the major dating sites. Latino bloggers and newspapers have praised the service as an offering that goes beyond the generic dating sites.

QuieroLatino offers two tiers of service: free and premium. Many of the free features allow users to partake in the QuieroLatino community by simply logging onto the site. Users can post a profile and search for members, rate profile pictures, and send flirts to members. In addition, users can add friends to their profile to keep track of what others are up to as well as note their favorite profiles for easy browsing at a later time. The premium service includes a broader range of communications options, including email and an internal chatting system.

Several additional features on QuieroLatino make and “intriguing” site. Profile items include some fields of particular interest to Latinos: religious preference and country of origin. The site’s in-person activities have included local events centered around professional networking or Latino entertainment. Many of these activities are made possible through partnerships with local organizations and national media outlets. QuieroLatino has also partnered with online Latino portals to create a broad entertainment portal for its users.
