Posse is the world’s first social search engine. Members build their own themed streets and fill them with favorite real world stores. They can then use Posse’s search engine to find the favorite places of their friends and friends of friends. We rank results based on how closely a user is connected to the person who made the recommendation and how good a match the places is with what you’ve asked for.

Each retailer on Posse gets their own dashboard showing which customers added them as a favorite place, comments about their store and find the customers who want to visit them. Retailers can use the dashboard to send thank-you messages and gifts, chime in on conversations and send incentives to people who indicated they’d like to visit.

Posse officially launched their iPhone app at SXSW Interactive 2013
