Polar Rose

Polar Rose helps users sort, search, and share their digital photos based on the photo content. Using superior computer vision technology Polar Rose can tell who’s in a photo.

Our partners are photo sharing and media sites who use our services to activate their users’ underserved digital photo archives, grow pageviews and increase ad revenues.

Polar Rose grew out of computer vision research - the analysis of digital images and video - at the Universities of Lund and Malmö in southern Sweden. We are currently a team of 17, including computer science graduates, mathematics Ph.Ds, a user interface designer, and a technology-fascinated economist on off-roads.

• The Polar Rose browser plugin identifies people in any public photo on the web.
• polarrose.com gives access to photos found by Polar Rose explorers and shows more of the same person.
• The partner API allows sites to add the Polar Rose functionality to their own site, whether a small personal gallery or large news site.
