Pinggers is a deal aggregator website that uses artificial intelligence to sort deals from deal of the day sites into categories, and to learn from users’ tastes and preferences in order to display only relevant deals for them.
The site is currently undergoing its testing phase, and will launch around March 2011 in multiple cities around the world, including New York, San Francisco, Chicago and Atlanta in the United States; Mumbai, in India; London, in the UK; Madrid in Spain; and Buenos Aires, Rosario and Cordoba in Argentina.
Pinggers has a very simple interface. On their first visit, users pick the deals categories they are interested in from a list, letting the site know their interests. Then, as each user surfs the site, he or she can indicate if they “like†or “dislike†deals. As they do this, and they buy different coupons, Pinggers’ AI learns their tastes and preferences, and gets better at recommending deals the user can be interested in. An important matter in the site is relevance. Users can choose how relevant deals they want to see.
The Artificial Intelligence that powers the site was developed in partnership Iken Solutions, an Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai spinoff that specializes in intelligent business systems incorporating BI 2.0 and hybrid Artificial Intelligence
Aside from the deal aggregator, Pinggers offers a white label service to large retail stores, banks and telecom companies seeking to launch their own deal sites designed especially for their brands. A big supermarket chain and several retailers in Argentina are using this platform already.
