Phuser describes itself as a social network for “your real-life friends”, and as such allows users to host private spaces to plan events and meetups with each other. Users amass friends and then can contact them via “phuses”by SMS or email. Phuses are similar to message board topic discussions, with the distinction that phuses are only open to the friends you select to send them to.
In November 2007 Phuser switched gears to focus on the working world by incorporating applications from best-in-breed Web 2.0 services into one package for team collaboration. Phuser will manage the sign up process for all of these applications and allow business teams to use the services and broadcast out updates in many forms of communications (RSS, Twitter, SMS, etc.). The first two integrations planned are for del.icio.us and SlideShare.
Other companies offering integrated applications packages for business use are Longjump and Zoho.
