people4business.com is an online marketplace where Buyers (businesses) can search for, contact and contract with Sellers (freelancers, contractors and consultants).
People4business operates primarily in the UK and now has over 40,000 professionals offering their services to more than 2,600 companies.
The site is free for both Buyers and Sellers to register and generates income from applying a 10% margin on top of the hourly rate that the Seller specifies they want to be paid for their services.
The rates, which can be viewed against each Seller on the site, are inclusive of the 10% margin - so the price seen on the site is the price paid by the Buyer, with no additional charges levied.
When a contract takes place it is electronically awarded on the site, the Seller gains access to a timesheet to enter the hours they have worked, the Buyer confirms the hours and people4business use this information to invoice the Buyer and pay the Seller.
All Sellers who gain contracts through the site are guaranteed payment by people4business irrespective of whether, or when, the Buyer pays their invoice.
