Founder Joe Giordano has referred to PayScale as the Kelly Blue Book for jobs. With over 7 million profiles in their database PayScale helps users figure out how much they should be making.

To get started, users spend about five minutes entering personal info relating to job type, experience, salary, benefits and education. Users are then presented with a free comparison report showing an expected compensation range, common benefits and job opportunities. For $20, PayScale Premium gives you real salaries from anonymous profiles, a premium salary report and negotiation guide.

Overall PayScale offers a useful service that gives significant value back to the user for spending time adding content to their database.
