PayByGroup is a group payment platform where no single person is on the hook for purchases like vacation rentals, concert tickets, sporting events, and other group activities.
We integrate directly with merchants and employ a Kickstarter model where a minimum number of people have to buy in for everyone’s payments to go through.
PayByGroup is a 500 Startups accelerator company located in Mountain View, CA.
The company was founded by Camilo Acosta and Frank Langston, who previously built Root Orange and originally met as freshmen at Princeton. Their co-founder Dan Oblinger is a computer science Ph.D. who served as a program director at DARPA where he personally managed more than $250 million a year in projects. Prior to co-founding PayByGroup, lead front-end developer Azat Mardanov worked at NIH.
