Out of Pocket is a search engine to help consumers lookup price for routine health care services. Uninsured and insured consumers use OutofPocket.com to lookup prices, determine what other consumers paid for similar servies and find the best value — before visiting a provider.

The search engine collects prices from multiple sources incuding:

• Consumers post/share prices they paid for actual services
• Providers are invited to submit prices/services to the directory
• Government CMS Medicare payment data for common procedures is loaded in the directory
• Public websites that publish prices are indexed in the directory
