Orbeus is a computer vision company with an integrated visual recognition engine that is capable of making sense of faces, scenes and objects all together, and moreover, their technology can process not only the static images but also real time videos.
Since the launch in last August, their API platform (http://www.rekognition.com/) received strong traction from different industries, and they are also working with some of the top electronic device manufactures to integrate their visual recognition technology in their next-generation devices.
ReKognition is a face and scene detection API platform for Glass, which sidesteps the privacy issues as it’s unable to detect someone’s identity.
Instead, ReKognition can tell if something is a face or not, or if it’s male or female, it can detect emotion, and to some extent, it can even tell how beautiful someone is. (The API has been trained somewhat subjectively by feeding it a series of celebrity photos to define the universal standard of beauty. Those who prefer a specific look may disagree.)
